Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about who Grindstone Solar is and what we own.

What is Grindstone Solar?

Grindstone Solar is a Texas clean-energy entity, formed in 2025, that owns solar photovoltaic and battery storage assets which produce clean, renewable electricity.

What does Grindstone Solar own?

A residential solar PV system (about 21 kW DC, with a 24 kW AC inverter and 405-watt modules) and a 42.9 kWh battery energy storage system, both placed in service in 2025 and hosted at a private residence in Trinity County, Texas.

Does Grindstone Solar install solar for homeowners?

No. Grindstone Solar is an owner of solar generating assets — not a solar installer or contractor. We don't sell or install systems for customers; we own clean-energy generation as a long-term holding.

What is distributed solar?

It's the model of generating electricity from many small, clean sources — like rooftop solar — located close to where the energy is used, rather than from a few large central power plants. Learn more →

How does owning a hosted system work?

Who operates and maintains the systems?

The systems are monitored, operated, and maintained by professional service providers under long-term agreements, with production tracked over time.

How much clean energy do the assets produce?

The solar system is estimated to generate about 26,400 kWh of clean electricity per year — roughly 488,000 kWh over its initial 20-year term. See our impact →
